THE BOOK OF EVERYTHING premiers at Netherlands Film Festival

This past Monday, The Book of Everything premiered at the Netherlands Film Festival in Utrecht. The film is based on the novel by Guus Kuijer, and directed by Ineke Houtman. The screenplay was written by Maarten Lebens and Mieke de Jong.

The Book of Everything tells the story of Thomas, a 9-year-old boy whose strict, deeply religious father imposes his rigid rules on the family. Using his vivid imagination, Thomas finds ways to escape his oppressive reality. With the help of his friend Jesus and his open-minded neighbor, he rebels against his father, inspiring both his rebellious teenage sister and his submissive mother to stand up for themselves as well. Happiness begins with no longer being afraid…

The Book of Everything will arrive in theaters in the Netherlands on October 10th.
