SEA OF TIME receives five nominations for Golden Calf at the 43rd Netherlands Film Festival

The excitement is palpable as the nominations for the prestigious Golden Calf Awards of 2023 were unveiled during the 43rd Dutch Film Festival. Among the standout contenders is “Sea of Time,” which held the coveted position of Opening Film at last year’s festival and has now earned nominations in five distinct categories for a Golden Calf!

*Best Film –  Maarten Swart, Kaap Holland Film (written by: Marieke van der Pol, directed by: Theu Boermans)

*Best Director – Theu Boermans

*Best Cinematography – Myrthe Mosterman

*Best Original Score – Fons Merkies, Laurens Goedhart, Michiel Marsman, and Manna Horsting

*Best Sound Design – Jan Willem van den Brink

The culmination of this cinematic celebration will occur on the evening of Friday, September 29th. The grand finale of the festival will witness the presentation of the most esteemed film awards in the Netherlands, the EY Golden Calf Awards Gala, held at the Stadsschouwburg Utrecht.

It’s worth noting that the nominations and eventual winners of the Golden Calves for feature films and feature-length documentaries are determined by the Academy system. Just like the Oscars, BAFTA’s, and Césars, a distinguished panel of hundreds of industry professionals, who are members of the Dutch Academy For Film (DAFF), participate in this deliberative process.
